Bill served as an assistant football coach for 32 years at Curwensville High School while teaching there. He began coaching in 1968 and his last year was as an assistant under Andy Evanko in 2003. During that time, Bill worked with 5 different head coaches for the Tide. Bill worked with head coach Lyle Domico for 19 seasons and was credited by coach Domico for operating championship defenses and coordinating a dominant offensive run game.

Bill was an assistant coach for the North in the 1998 Lezzer Lumber Classic game. Bill also served as head wrestling coach for Curwensville from 1980-1982 as well as an assistant wrestling coach for 15 years. He was a three-sport athlete for Curwensville in high school before wrestling and playing football for Shippensburg University.
